Bikes

One of the best ways to experience BaseCamp and the surrounding area is on two wheels. Guests have complimentary access to a variety of adult bikes from cruisers to road bikes, perfect for exploring the property, our bike skills course or heading out onto the nearby Southwind Rail Trail. For those looking to go a little farther, two e-bikes are also available to rent.

Trails

BaseCamp sits as the trailhead to the Southwind Rail Trail, making it easy to head out for a ride or walk straight from the property. The trail runs between Humboldt and Iola, linking to the Prairie Spirit Trail in one direction and into Humboldt’s historic square in the other. A winding pathway throughout the BaseCamp property makes it easy for our overnight guests to wander between cabins, the pond, and gathering spaces along the way.

On the Water

The 3-acre quarry pond is one of BaseCamp’s favorite places to slow down and enjoy the water. Guests can take out adult and kids’ kayaks, paddle boards, a vintage canoe, or the pontoon pedal boat.  All included with your stay.

BikeBarn

The BikeBarn is BaseCamp’s central gathering space. A place for guests to relax, connect, and spend time together. Inside you’ll find large tables, comfortable seating, a pool table, games, and BaseCamp merch, while outside a wraparound porch and outdoor gathering areas offer space to eat, lounge, and enjoy the fresh air. The BikeBarn kitchen can also be reserved for larger group meals.

Hosting an event? The BikeBarn is available to rent for small gatherings like showers,

birthdays and family gatherings.  Please contact us for event inquiries.

Fishing

The 3-acre quarry pond at BaseCamp offers a peaceful place to cast a line or enjoy just being by the water. The pond is home to bluegill, smallmouth bass, carp, and catfish, making it a fun spot for both casual anglers and families trying their luck.

Firepits

Evenings at BaseCamp are meant for the fire, naturally becoming a time to slow down, share stories from the day’s adventures, and make lasting memories all under the Kansas stars. With gathering spaces throughout the property and private firepits at every cabin, the fire quickly becomes the place everyone wants to be...together.
